The Velvet Looks of Sophistication

Looking chic in secondhand clothes is beautiful, especially when you create your personal style with comfort and does not involve dressing like a follower of fashion trends. I no longer follow trends, but it is important that I look beautiful and chic in the amazing new or gently used clothing I acquire. Therefore, when I do stumble on prior years’ trends for little to nothing it is a satisfactory moment, like plush velvet, a fall 2010 fashion trend.

Velvet is a fine fabric. It has the look of luxury and sophistication and the feel of soft fur. As you can see from these beautiful velvet cocktail dresses, it embody elegance. These dresses are versatile and are made of polyester, rayon, spandex and silk blend, so they are very comfortable to wear and not the regular stiff and warm velvet that most people steered clear of or wear only in cold weather. To achieve a stunning and stylish look when wearing velvet, do not wear it from head-to-toe or you will look outdated, so keep it simple with minimum accessories, mix it with other fabrics, and always show some skin.

Thanks Wendy! I like them all, but the black and gold cocktail dress is my favorite. It looks even more beautiful in person then in the picture. It is the epitome of elegance and I not sure if I want to sell it and if I did, how much to sell it for, and this is why I have not listed it at my store.

Are there any good thrift stores in South Africa?

I've been looking here in JHB so I'll let you know soonest. I saw a place this morning with the most devine old costume jewellery. They were closed but I mean to go there tomorrrow. A friend told me of a fantastic place in Zambia though. That's a holiday trip i'm sure.
